Living the Aloha Spirit

Mar 17, 2023

I'm sitting on the balcony over our hotel room in Hawaii, looking out at the ocean and palm trees that are rustling in the wind.

Spent the morning with my daughters and then did a coaching call with our Next Level Academy group from here.

Lots of beach time, ocean time, pool time and chill. It's easy to have the Aloha Spirit here on vacation.

It's a vibe for sure.

Then my kids do something that I react to and get in a little tailspin myself, hah.

Falling right into a program, a learned reaction and not conscious choice.

By the way here's what the Aloha Spirit is all about:

By definition of the Hawaiian Spirit Law, “Aloha Spirit” is the coordination of mind and heart within each person. It brings each person to the self. Each person must think and emote good feelings to others. It means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return.

How good is that?

After learning about that and reading it myself, I was reacting to something my oldest daughter  was doing then I thought - Aloha Spirit.

Allowed myself to just feel into my heart and extend kindness to her rather than reprimand.

I think it's  practice we can all engage in and get better at, living from Aloha Spirit.

Living from kindness and care with no obligation in return.

One of the principles I subscribe to and believe in is the idea of a Universal bank.

The concept works like this, every time you do good, you deposit something into the Universal bank. The Universal bank always gives you back increased return of what you deposit.

Here's the catch, it doesn't always show up from the source you give to. You may help someone and receive nothing from that person, however the Universal bank always sends you back what you give.

Some of my thoughts from our time in Maui so far.

By the way, I just released an interview with Orly Amor. She has one of the craziest stories I've heard and been able to create an amazing life from a way worse place than most of us have gone through.

Check it out, she's got the Aloha Spirit. Incredibly helpful, kind and delivers warmth and care.
